It's dog-eat-dog out there.

Example 1

Mike : Wake up, people! Eveybody seems to dog it today.

         What's the matter with you?

Julia : Yesterday was Thanksgiving Day and tomorrow will be Saturday. You should have let us take today off.

Mike : What are you talking about?  Do you want this company to go to the dogs?

Example 2

Sarah : How is Mr. Kim doing in the company?

James : He is in the doghouse with his boss.

Sarah : Really? That's too bad.

James : Well, every dog has his day, so who knows he may be able to quit the company and start his own business some day.

Example2

Sarah : How is Mr. Kim doing in the company?

James : He is in the doghouse with his boss.

Sarah : Really? That's too bad.

James : Well, every dog has his day, so who knows he may be able to quit the company and start his own business some day.
