골1:18 또한 그분은 몸인 교회의 머리이십니다. 그분은 시작이시며, 죽은 사람들 가운데 가장 먼저 나신 분이십니다. 이것은 그분 자신께서 만물 가운데서 으뜸이 되시기 위한 것이었습니다.

오늘의 만나

  하나님의 경륜 안에서, 하나님은 우리에게 한 인격과 한 길을 주십니다. 한 인격은 으뜸이시고 모든 것을 포함하신 그리스도이고, 한 길은 십자가입니다. 모든 것을 포함하신 분으로서 그리스도는 우리에게 모든 것이십니다. 그분은 하나님이자 사람이시며, 우주 안의 모든 긍정적인 것의 실재이십니다.


하나님께서 주신 이 놀라운 인격은 우리에게 구원이 되십니다. 한 인격이신 그리스도는 우주의 중심이고, 한 길인 십자가는 하나님의 통치의 중심입니다. 하나님은 모든 것을 십자가에 의해 통치하시고, 모든 것을 십자가로 처리하십니다. 그러므로 그리스도께서 우주의 초점인 것처럼, 십자가는 하나님의 통치의 중심입니다. 


골로새서에서 바울은 골로새인들에게 어느 것도 그리스도의 대치물이 되어서는 안 된다고 지적합니다. 그리스도는 규례나 규정, 신비주의, 철학에 의해 대치되어서는 안 됩니다. 그리스도는 모든 것이시고, 어떤 것에 의해서도 대치되어서는 안 됩니다. 골로새의 신비주의는 영지주의와 금욕주의를 포함합니다. 그리스도는 모든 '주의'와 반대되십니다.


그분은 모든 종류의 대체와 대치물과 반대되십니다. 골로새서 2장 중반에서 바울은 십자가가 하나님의 유일한 길임을 보여주기 시작합니다. 하나님의 길은 금욕주의가 아닙니다. 그 길은 자신을 겸손하게 하는 것이 아니고, 자신을 낮추는 것도 아니며, 자신을 가혹히 취급하는 것도 아닙니다. 유일한 길은 십자가의 길입니다.


하나님은 십자가로 우주 안의 모든 부정적인 것들을 처리하셨습니다. 더 나아가 하나님은 여전히 모든 것을 십자가를 통하여 통치하고 계십니다. 그러므로 우리는 한 인격과 한 길 즉 그리스도와 십자가를 소유하고 있습니다.

  In His economy [plan] God gives us one Person and one way. The one Person is the preeminent, all-inclusive Christ, and the one way is the cross. As the all-inclusive One, Christ is everything to us. He is God, man, and the reality of every positive thing in the universe. God has given us this marvelous Person to be our salvation. The one Person, Christ, is the center of the universe; and the one way, the cross, is the center of God's government. God governs everything by the cross and deals with everything by the cross. Therefore, just as Christ is the focal point of the universe, so the cross is the center of God's government. In this book Paul points out to the Colossians that nothing should become a substitute for Christ. Christ should not be replaced by ordinances, observances, mysticism, or philosophy. Christ is everything and must not be replaced by anything. In Colossians mysticism includes Gnosticism and asceticism. Christ is versus all manner of isms. He is versus every kind of replacement and substitute. Midway through chapter two, Paul begins to show us that the cross is God's unique way. God's way is not asceticism. It is not to humble ourselves, to abase ourselves, or to treat ourselves severely. The one way is the way of the cross. By the cross God has dealt with all the negative things in the universe. Furthermore, God is still governing everything through the cross. Therefore, we have one Person and one way; that is, we have Christ and the cross.
